“I suppose thats one way to put it.” Maddox smiled at Jonah’s reply. He was happy that Jonah had seem to have taken it rather well. People in Lima weren’t known for their accepting nature, but Maddox found that his popularity and rather intimidating demeanor aided him in fending off people who disheartened other people for sport.

“Not really, no.” He said in regards to his meal choice. He could probably find something if he actually tried, but one; he was lazy, and two; a little flirting couldn’t hurt, right? He didn’t know what it was that made him so forward (he had just met Jonah after all), but he decided to run with it. “How about you order for me. I’m putting my well-being into your hands, Jonah.” Maddox joked with mock seriousness.

“That, might not be a very good idea.” he laughed. Once again skimming over the menu, he finally laid his eyes on something that looked appealing and decided it was good enough.

“Okay, your fate has been chosen. Just don’t start complaining when you regret your decision.”

Setting the menu aside, Jonah waited for the waitress to come pick up their orders. He fidgeted with his hands for a second, trying to think of another topic. Bitting his lip, he drew out a long “Soooo…”

Finally deciding to stick to the somewhat mundane world of small talk to avoid any awkward silences, he leaned forward with a conspiratorial smile.

“Any brothers or sisters? Dogs? Cats? Maybe a mansion I should know about? Tell me about the fascinating life of Maddox St James.”

Maddox was pleased that he made Jonah laugh. He wasn’t anything near a comedian, but he was happy to elicit a chuckle from time to time, from Jonah all the better.

He casually perused the menu as he waited for Jonah’s answer to his question. He had passed the pasta section without a second glance, and found himself searching for a salad of some sort.

Maddox couldn’t help but be a bit shocked at the revelation that Jonah was in fact, single. He seemed like such an, ah, charmer.

He felt a bit guilty after seeing how uncomfortable the question made Jonah and instantly wished he could take it back. He could be quite graceless when it came to social interaction, much to his father’s obvious distaste. It had been said though, so he had to continue on.

“Lets just say, I’m about as likely to get a girlfriend as Neil Patrick Harris is.” He wasn’t quite used to saying what he was outright, but he inferred that Jonah would be intelligent enough to get it and hopefully be okay with it.

“So.. very likely, just not inclined to” he quipped.

He was surprised Maddox was gay, seeing as his father had been quite the ladies man in his day. Heck, it wasn’t too unlikely to assume that Jesse St James could have potentially been his father. He mentally shuddered at the thought, not because he has any distaste for the man but because any feelings he may develop for Maddox seemed slightly disturbing in that perspective.

“So, have you decided what you’re getting?”
